Police Watch: Man charged in hit-and-run, ‘Bag snatcher’ arrested at Gramercy Park Hotel

MAN CHARGED WITH HIT-AND-RUN
Police arrested 40-year-old Robert Maltese for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury in front of 132 West 31st Street on a previous date. Police said that Maltese struck a 25-year-old woman with his car, causing an injury, then left the scene. Maltese was arrested last Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. inside the 13th Precinct.

MAN ACCUSED OF SNATCHING BAG AT GRAMERCY PARK HOTEL
Police arrested 28-year-old Rayner Reyes inside the Gramercy Park Hotel at 2 Lexington Avenue last Thursday at 2 a.m. Police said that Reyes was seen by security taking a woman’s purse from the chair next to her leg and allegedly attempted to walk out of the bar area into the lobby, where he was caught with the bag. Reyes was also charged with possession of stolen property.

TEEN CON ARTIST ARRESTED FOR KNIFE IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested a teenager for weapons possession inside the Union Square subway station last Sunday at 8:58 p.m. Police said that the teen had strolled into a handful of businesses attempting to raise money for a fraudulent youth football team, then entered the subway station by jumping over the turnstile. When he was searched, police said that a knife was recovered from his backpack. Police said that the teen was not connected to the group wanted for committing robberies while soliciting donations for a fake local sports team.

MAN BUSTED FOR ASSAULT ON PARK AVENUE SOUTH
Police arrested 24-year-old Gray Zoe for alleged assault in front of 236 Park Avenue South last Friday at 7:58 p.m. Police said that Zoe kicked the victim in the chest and also threw a chair, intending to cause the victim physical harm. Police said that Zoe also pulled out a silver boxcutter and attempted to cut the victim multiple time by lunging at him. Zoe allegedly fled north on Park Avenue South and was arrested across from 125 East 25th Street. Zoe was also charged with menacing, reckless endangerment and harassment.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE THREATENING INCIDENTS
Police arrested 43-year-old Wando Brown for an alleged assault in front of 465 Second Avenue near East 26th Street last Friday at 8:30 p.m. A witness told police that she saw Brown on top of the victim while the victim was laying on the ground. The witness said that she also saw Brown slapping, punching and spitting in the victim’s face multiple times. The victim told police that he had a complaint of chest pain and was feeling dizzy, and he was brought to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. Brown was also charged with menacing and police said that on a previous date, she allegedly brandished a kitchen knife at a woman during an argument and verbally threatened to assault her before fleeing on foot.

PAIR BUSTED FOR ‘DRUGS’ ON LEX
Police arrested 39-year-old Francisco Torres and 31-year-old Allison Ullo for allegedly intending to sell a narcotic in front of 2 Lexington Avenue last Saturday at 1:55 a.m. Torres and Ullo were also charged with sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

MAN BUSTED FOR SUSPENDED LICENSE AFTER HITTING PEDESTRIAN
Police arrested 36-year-old Gregorz Muzynski for an unclassified traffic misdemeanor and allegedly being an unlicensed operator in front of 225 East 14th Street last Thursday at 12:08 p.m. Police said that Muzynski was driving west on East 14th Street when he struck a pedestrian and upon further investigation, police discovered that his license had been suspended on February 12, 2017 for failing to pay a fine.

MAN ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING INSIDE STRAUS HOUSES
Police arrested 45-year-old Martin Negron for alleged possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass inside Straus Houses at 224 East 28th Street last Tuesday at 6:10 p.m. Police said that Negron was seen with heroin in plain view and was also allegedly in possession of two crack pipes. Upon further investigation, police found that Negron also did not have permission to be inside the NYCHA building where he was spotted.

MEN ARRESTED FOR SLEEPING INSIDE ATM
Police arrested a 33-year-old man and a 32-year-old man for criminal trespass inside the ATM vestibule at 245 Seventh Avenue last Tuesday at 6:35 a.m. Police said that the two men were sleeping inside the ATM vestibule for an extended period without permission. One of the men was allegedly in possession of heroin and Clonazepam and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

WOMAN BUSTED FOR SMOKING K2 ON UNION SQUARE PLATFORM
Police arrested 29-year-old Ashley Scola for alleged possession of a controlled substance inside the Union Square subway station at Union Square East and East 14th Street last Wednesday at 11:31 a.m. Police said that Scola was smoking a K2 cigarette on the station platform.
